Cory Monteith’s Legacy

Green Grass or Weeds

Cory's Legacy

In Memory of Cory Monteith and What He Leaves Behind.

When we see actors like Cory Monteith we imagine that they have the world at their feet; such talent and good looks, but things aren’t always as they seem. The teenage years are probably the most difficult in our lives and in interviews Cory attests to his demons.  Like most of us, Cory came to a place where he made choices, which tipped his life towards a particular direction. Unfortunately, at that age the grass always seems greener in someone else’s life. Others are prettier, smarter, more talented – it doesn’t matter what gifts we have, we focus on what we don’t have.

So dear Cory, chose the path of drugs to induce a more pleasurable state, a life that seemed better in the moment. For some it’s alcohol. Cory brings forth a timely reminder that if we are going to choose any kind of drug to get us on a high it should be – PASSION.  I’m not talking about the sexual kind though, I’m talking about focusing on something you truly love to do. The high is amazing.  It seemed Cory loved his work in Glee and his beautiful fiance Lea Michelle, but it was too late he was already hooked on a more powerful drug.

A Message To All

Let’s all learn from Cory’s tragic experience. He spoke candidly to media about his drug addiction in the hope that he could  steer other young people away from it. Don’t waste his important message, which has gained strength with his passing.

Time to Re-Focus

Instead of focusing on what others have or are, re-focus on the gifts you have. No matter how quirky, daggy or unfitting your talents appear to be if they are yours they are awesome. Don’t worry what others may think of you or that you’re not going to fit in. People often smoke, drink and take drugs so that they fit in, but where does it get them. In the end do they even remember what they are fitting in to?

A Legacy

Cory Moneith’s life should live in our memories, giving us the message to wake up. He had talent, but obviously didn’t realize until he was already hooked.  What’s your talent, what meaning can you give to your life, what are you willing to do to see your dreams realized.

Passion

A great way to explore your passions is to do it through writing. Take a look at this blog link about Passion and you may get some ideas.  If you would like to post something about Cory, you can post it in the comments section of the People tab or use this link.

The grass is not always greener on the other side, sometimes it’s just weeds.

Bye,

Dee.

Thank you. Nicely captured. He has left a legacy. Rest in peace. You did an amazing job in such a short space of time Cory. You lived your dream despite the enormous roadblocks you were facing.
