Arkrealm: The Apprentice is a fantasy adventure about a teenager chosen to be the first human apprentice in the Arkrealm.  Author Dee Rayson has created a cool cast of characters that teenage readers will find very appealing.  In addition, she does a good job of describing the Arkrealm and drawing us into this secret society of superheroes.  However, I felt like the “save the environment” theme could have been toned down as it tended to distract from the action adventure taking place in the story.  Overall, this was a well written story that teenagers will find fun to read.

This book will appeal to young adult readers on many levels.Dee Rayson introduces us to Sandy Miller, a typical teenager concerned about her appearance, boys and parents, but very cleverly, the reader is drawn into the fantastical world of Arkrealm, as Sandy discovers she is to be an apprentice to the Arketykes in helping save the world. Dee colourfully paints the fantasy world of the Arketykes and their magical powers. The story deals with many issues vital to young people- saving the world and finding one’s path in life. The characters, both human and the magical inhabitants of Arkrealm are drawn with realism and , we, the readers, are left intrigued after Sandy’s first New Year kiss wondering what adventures lie ahead for Sandy and her friends in the next book.

I really loved this book. The accuracy added a sense of realism and actually taught me a lot of new things. The idea and plot for the book was very original, unlike anything else I’ve read so it was really fresh and different which I thought was great. The twists (especially the last one) have left me jumping up and down waiting for the next book so I can see what happens. I can’t wait to read the rest and am proud to be part of the Arkrealm project. Thank you so much for giving me something awesome to read and I look forward to buying the future books!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book – the characters are believable, the plot is unique with a number of unexpected twists and turns and Dee Rayson’s writing style makes for an easy read for children and adults alike. The Arkrealm Project, of which this book is a worthy introduction, is a comprehensive programme of awareness for both the world we live in and the possibilities for our personal growth. Rightly, Ms. Rayson has targeted the Young Adult market for, as so often happens, change comes from the young. If your child is concerned about the future of our beautiful planet, what better gift for Christmas than this book?

I really loved this book from the start through to the end. The author Dee Rayson captured my full attention; the wonderful characters, Sandy Miller and her friends, their personalities and a fantastic plot within the imaginative world of Arkrealm. I found it interesting how she related each character to a color personality. It was easy to read and I liked the short chapters. I really loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone. I am excited about the up and coming Work Book and I look forward to reading her second book in the Arkrealm series.

I just finished Dee’s book, a book for teens but great for all readers wanting something new and exciting to read. This fantasy/ adventure combining powers of super heroes with an unpretenous teen kept me enthralled to the end and wanting more.I really enjoyed how Sandy’s life mixes teenage emotions with her new role when she chooses to become an apprentice to some very unusual and talented Arkrealm personalities. The mix of events kept the action strong and I was keen to keep reading and loved the format with its short chapters. A great first book – I’m ready to read the next now I know who the ‘dark’ arketyke apprentice is. Keep writing Dee, we want to find out what happens.

Wow! What a ride. I was a bit dubious about reading a young adult novel, but the environmental superheroes piqued my interest. I settled in and began to enjoy getting to know all the characters and their different color personalities as Ms Rayson calls them. What I wasn’t prepared for was the crazy ride, once I hit the motocross scene. From then on I couldn’t put the book down. It was one drama, disaster or heart break after another. Just when I thought I knew what was happening, the plot would twist again. It really kept me hooked and by the end left me craving the next installment. I think this is a great book for young adults, and adults who are young at heart. I gave it to my 8 year old niece to read and she loved it too. I would recommend this to anyone.

Totally loved the book – it was a gripping read and the end blew me away! This first book in the Arkrealm series is well written and very engaging. I’d recommend it to young adults but also oldies like me who love reading and writing in that genre.

This book was easy to read and identify with characters. I didn’t want to put it down til I had finished and can’t wait for the next in the series. I read it and encouraged my teenage daughters to read it too. In an adventure story format I can see that it can help teens (and maybe some adults) learn more about their own personalities and how to identify and live with more understanding of others…

I have just finished reading Arkrealm: The Apprentice. It is a very good book and I would recommend it to young and old alike. It is rare these days to find a fiction book aimed at young adults that has good values as well as being captivating. My daughters (12 year old and 15 year old) have started reading the book and are enjoying it. It is one of those books that make you feel sad to finish because you wish you could keep reading forever. I am looking forward to the other books in the project!
